Our purpose
We support work that enriches knowledge, protects the environment and contributes to cultural life.
Areas of support
Our focus
The Jonas Weil Family Foundation focuses its grant-making on four areas: culture, environmental conservation, education and scientific research.

01
Culture
The Foundation supports initiatives that preserve, develop and make culture accessible.
We are particularly interested in projects that foster cultural heritage, artistic expression and meaningful cultural exchange, as well as initiatives that strengthen understanding between people and communities.

02
Environmental conservation
The Foundation supports initiatives that protect and restore the natural environment and contribute to the long-term preservation of biodiversity.
Particular areas of interest include the conservation of oceans and marine ecosystems, the protection of wildlife and natural habitats, and practical initiatives that create lasting environmental impact.

03
Education
The Foundation supports education as a means of creating opportunity, independence and long-term resilience.
We are particularly interested in initiatives that provide access to education for people whose opportunities have been disrupted by conflict, displacement or other difficult circumstances, including programmes that help individuals rebuild their lives through education and vocational training.
We also support educational initiatives that address antisemitism, deepen understanding of Jewish culture, and help people recognise and challenge prejudice.

04
Scientific research
The Foundation supports scientific research that has the potential to improve human wellbeing and address important societal challenges.
Areas of particular interest include research into physical and psychological trauma, PTSD, rehabilitation and recovery following serious injury, including injuries resulting from war and terrorism.
The Foundation is particularly interested in research that can translate scientific advances into better treatment, rehabilitation and long-term outcomes for those affected.
